Adopt a African Grey

African Grey Bird

Zeus the Bird needs a home

Zeus and Zena enjoy a love of mythical proportions. They initially fell for each other in a wild jungle somewhere across the great sea. They were caught by people looking to make money by selling exotic parrots to people in the United States. (Sadly, this practice is still legal in some countries, though the U.S. no longer allows them to be imported.) Lucky for both Zeus and Zena, they ended up together in a little rescue in Arizona. Life wasn't so bad there; at least they had each other. But then came more bad news: Some new people bought the land where the rescue was situated and decided they didn't want the rescue or the rescuees. So Zeus and Zena moved to Best Friends. After all they've been through, their bond is stronger than ever, even Herculean in nature! And so is their sense of independence. It's not that they don't like people -- they simply prefer their own company and enjoy doing bird-like things that people don't do. Like flap their wings and give each other love beaks. Zeus and Zena would love to live out the rest of their days together in a large aviary complete with lots of twigs, branches and other memorabilia from their days in the jungle. Could you love a couple of free spirits like these? Let's meet Zena!
